The Community Care Advice and Support we provide

At Care Concern Solutions, we specialize in supporting unpaid carers and service users who are facing challenges with adult social care decisions made by their local Council. Our team of adult social care experts provides tailored advice, advocacy, and support, helping you challenge a wide range of issues and secure the best possible outcomes, including financial compensation where injustices have occurred.

Whether you are unhappy with the number of support hours provided at home, the financial contributions you're asked to make, or delays in receiving the right care, we are here to guide and advocate for you every step of the way.

    Social Care Complaints

With our experience handling over 800 adult social care complaints across England, we know how to build strong, effective cases to support you. Whether you are looking to make a complaint about your community care or considering to sue social services, our team will help you craft the most compelling argument to present to the Council.

Care Advocacy support / social care advocate:

Our deep understanding of Community Care Law, The Care Act 2014, and the Care and Support Statutory Guidance means we can offer expert advocacy for you. We will ensure your Council will apply these regulations correctly when organizing or providing your adult social care. Let us advocate for you to secure the social care support you or your loved one needs.

Social care charging / financial assessment / care contribution:

We frequently support clients who are unhappy about the way their Council handles their financial assessment for home care. This includes issues such as: disability-related expenses (DRE), income and capital calculations, deprivation of assets, and delays in completing assessments. Furthermore, if you feel that you are unable to pay your care contributions or believe your assessment was unfair, our experts can help you challenge these decisions effectively.

Care home fees / Residential care home costs:

Complaints about financial assessments for residential care are also very common. Our team can assist with issues such as property disregard (mandatory and discretionary), care home top-up fees, deprivation of capital, the 12-week property disregard, and delays in assessments. We will guide you through the complexities and ensure your rights are upheld.

Care hours reduction / not enough care hours or care support

Many of our clients are dissatisfied with reductions in their support hours, after a care review or needs assessment. We have extensive experience in challenging these decisions. Recently, we successfully prevented a Council from reducing a care support package from 48 to 24 hours a week. If you are facing similar issues, we can help you build a strong case backed by relevant legislation (testimonials page).

Care and needs assessment / social care assessment / Community Care Act assessment:

Delays or unsatisfactory social care assessments can leave individuals without the proper care they need.

Whether you need help securing a reassessment or seeking compensation for delays or inadequate evaluations, we are here to support you in resolving these issues.

    Quality of the care support:

Whether you are unhappy about the timing of your care visits (carers arriving late, not staying long enough), or the quality of the support carers provide (at your home or in the care home) our experts will assist you in raising concerns with the social care agency or Council, ensuring that you or your loved one receive the high-quality care you deserve.

    Carer assessments:

Under the Care Act 2014, carers are entitled to an assessment of their needs, regardless of the amount or type of care they provide. However, many carers have complained to us about delays in receiving a carer assessment, the lack of thorough evaluation of their needs, and the failure to appropriately meet their identified eligible needs.

    Carer support:

Carers often complain about a lack of support from the Council, leaving them overwhelmed, stressed, and mentally and physically exhausted. Without sufficient respite, financial aid, or practical help, carers feel isolated and struggle to balance caregiving with their own lives, and feeling pressured into providing more support (hours) than they want to or can. We are here to ensure the council gives you the support you need.

Respite care / social services respite care:

Respite care is essential for carers, giving them time to rest and prevent burnout, as well as giving them the time they need to pursue their own hobbies and interest. Without it, carers often face exhaustion, and stress, making it harder to continue their caregiving role. We are here to ensure the council gives you the support you need.

Disabled Facilities Grant / Home adaptations:

We provide support in navigating the Disabled Facilities Grant process, ensuring that essential adaptations to your home are completed promptly and meet your needs.

    Finding a Care Home:

Navigating the process of finding a suitable care home can be stressful, especially with the complex rules around Council support and care home fees. We provide expert advice to help you understand your options and make informed decisions.

NHS Continuing Healthcare / NHS Continuing Care:

Our team can guide you through the complex process of applying for NHS Continuing Healthcare, from understanding eligibility criteria to helping you prepare a strong case for assessment and appeals if necessary.

    Reablement / intermediate care support:

We can assist by helping service users understand the eligibility criteria for free reablement and intermediate care support, and supporting them in any complaint where the Council has refused to provide this (for free).

    Blue badge applications:

Our experts can provide the support you need when putting in a strong appeal to try and overturn a decision by the Council that you are not eligible for a blue parking badge.
